America…A plan to execute half a million owls.
In a controversial move, the US Fish and Wildlife Service announced a plan to eliminate nearly 450,000 owls over three decades, in an attempt to save the endangered “poof” in Oregon, Washington, and California.
The owl, one of the original owls on the west coast, faces the risk of extinction due to the gas “painted owl” spread from the east of the United States.
The planned owl is multiplying in greater numbers and requires less space to survive, making the owl uncompetitive.
According to Delli Mel, the execution will be carried out by trained shooters in the forests of the West Coast, where the owl will be drawn using recorded gravitational sounds and then shot.
This plan has given rise to a wide debate between environmental and animal protection advocates, as some consider it to be a cruel and ineffective solution, while others consider it necessary to save the clamped owl from extinction.
