Dolce and Gabana is firing a dog perfume!!
The Italian fancy fashion house Dolce and Gabana, launched a new dog perfume, in a move that triggered an immediate denunciation by animal rights advocates.
The trademark showed on its website that “this delicate, alcohol-free mix, inspired by the unconditional love of Dominico Dolce for his loyal little dog, combines the fresh and thin smells of Elling, the musk, and sandalwood.”
The site described this product as “a tender perfume and a family designed for a fun beauty routine.”
This bottle of perfume is sold for 99 euros, with a 24-carat gold-plated dog claw and a medallion bearing the slogan “Dulce and Gabana.”
But the International Society for Animal Rights, Beta, considered that “the spraying of dogs with a perfume designed to please humans, as with the new Dolce and Gabana product, can seriously disturb them.”
In a statement sent to France Press, Ingrid Newkirk said that dogs “have hundreds of millions of extra receptors in their noses and have the ability to smells that are between 10,000 and 100,000 times higher than those in humans.”
She pointed out that smells on her fur “can cause her anxiety and tension and interfere with her ability to detect other smells in her environment and to communicate with other animals she meets.”
